Event Q&A

What is a Zoom Webinar?
A Zoom Webinar is a virtual event held on the Zoom platform where participants can watch presentations, ask questions, and engage with hosts and panelists in a structured format. Unlike Zoom Meetings, attendees cannot turn on their microphones or cameras unless granted permission.

How do I join the event?
You will receive a registration or confirmation email with a link. Click the link at the time of the event. You may be prompted to enter your name and email address before entering the webinar.

Do I need a Zoom account to attend?
No, you do not need a Zoom account to attend the webinar. However, you must register if the host requires it, and you’ll need the Zoom software or app to join.

Can I join from a mobile device?
Yes. You can join from a smartphone or tablet using the free Zoom app, available on iOS and Android.

Will other participants see or hear me?
No. In a Zoom Webinar, attendees are in “view-only” mode by default. Only the hosts, co-hosts, and panelists can be seen or heard unless they allow you to speak or promote you to panelist.

How can I ask a question during the webinar?
Use the Q&A feature (not the chat) to type your questions. The host or panelists may answer them live or via text if there is time after their talk. If your question is not answered at the live event then you can send it to our team to respond to after the event.

Will the webinar be recorded? Can I watch it later?
We do our best to make recordings available after the webinar, but we cannot guarantee it. We strongly encourage attendees to register and join the live event if possible—strong live audience numbers help us attract top-tier speakers each year.

Do I need to attend the whole event?
No, you’re not required to attend the entire webinar. You can join at any time and leave whenever you need to. If the session is being recorded, you may be able to catch up on anything you missed afterward.
