The Personal Story of Equatorsun
Equatorsun was founded from a deeply personal mission as shared by their representative, George:
After being diagnosed with melanoma, Annette, my mother, started Equatorsun to raise awareness about the dangers of sun exposure and to help others protect themselves. She realized that constantly reapplying sunscreen or avoiding the sun altogether was not the best solution—sun protective clothing provided both flexibility and reliable protection.
Tragically, three years later, we lost Annette to melanoma. However, her passion and dedication left an enduring legacy. In honor of her mission, I chose to continue her work, ensuring that Equatorsun remains a beacon of sun safety, helping others protect themselves with high-quality sun protective clothing.
Why We Are Partnering
At The Vitiligo Society we know how important it is for our community to keep safe in the sun. Vitiligo causes a loss of pigmentation in the skin that can make those patches more sensitive to the sun and more susceptible to sun damage.
