We’re Exploring a New Event for Teenagers with Vitiligo
The Vitiligo Society is exploring the possibility of launching a dedicated event for teenagers with vitiligo in 2027, and we’d like young people and their families to help shape it.
We regularly hear from parents and young people about the value of meeting others who understand what it’s like to grow up with vitiligo. We also know that the teenage years can bring unique challenges around confidence, identity, friendships and appearance. Rather than deciding what a teen event should look like ourselves, we’d like to hear directly from the people it would be for.

What Would Teenagers Actually Want?
We’re currently exploring a range of possibilities and would love to know what sounds most appealing. Ideas include:
- A fun social event where teenagers can meet others with vitiligo
- Outdoor activities and challenges
- Sports-based activities
- Creative or craft workshops
- Confidence and self-esteem sessions
- Discussions around appearance, camouflage and self-expression
- A combination of activities, friendship and peer support
We’re particularly interested in understanding whether young people would prefer an event centred around fun activities and social connection, or something more focused on confidence-building and learning practical skills.
Where Could It Take Place?
If there is sufficient interest, the event would most likely be held in London or the Reading area, where we already have experience hosting successful events and support activities.

Tell Us What You Think
At this stage, we’re simply gathering feedback and gauging demand.
We’d love to hear:
- Whether a dedicated teen event would interest you or your family
- What age range you think it should be aimed at
- What activities young people would genuinely enjoy
- Whether you’d be willing to travel to London or Reading
- Any ideas or suggestions you would like us to consider
Our goal is to create something that teenagers actually want to attend—not something designed without their input.
If this sounds like an opportunity you’d be interested in, please let us know. Your feedback will help shape the future of support and events for young people within The Vitiligo Society community.
