“It was the first time I felt like I fit in” – Angela’s Story

Posted on 23rd June 2025  2 minute read

When Angela was first diagnosed with vitiligo, she felt like a burden.

Her family worried about her future — whether she would be accepted, whether she’d find someone to love her. Angela, too, feared she’d spend her life hiding, covering up her skin and shrinking her world to avoid judgment.

But everything changed the day she found the courage to meet others living with vitiligo. That one moment — stepping into a space where she was seen, understood, and not alone — transformed her perspective. For the first time, she realised she wasn’t broken. She was part of a community, The Vitiligo Society.
