Support the Vitiligo Society
The Vitiligo Society relies on the support of individuals and organisations to continue our work. Every form of support helps, but some play a particularly vital role in keeping our charity here for the long term.
This page explains the different ways you can support us, what each type of support enables us to do, and how your contribution can make a meaningful difference to people affected by vitiligo.
Membership: the most powerful way to support our work
For individuals, becoming a member of the Vitiligo Society is the most impactful way to support us.
Membership provides the stable, reliable income that covers our core running costs. This includes keeping our services available, maintaining trusted information resources, supporting staff and volunteers, and ensuring the charity can continue to exist and respond to the needs of the vitiligo community. Put simply, membership keeps our doors open. As a thank you members get unlimited access to our online magazine The VitLife and access to exclusive member-only discounts with our partners.
By becoming a member, you are helping to ensure that:
- Support services remain available
- Information stays accurate, up to date and independent
- The charity can plan for the future with confidence
- People affected by vitiligo are not left without support

Donations, fundraising and gifts: helping us go further
In addition to membership, donations and fundraising play a crucial role in helping us extend and develop our work. These forms of support often allow us to:
- Launch new services or support initiatives
- Run awareness and education campaigns
- Support research and evidence‑based projects
- Respond to emerging needs within the community
Donations
One‑off or regular donations help strengthen our work beyond core costs. Donations can also be restricted, meaning you can indicate that your support should go towards a specific area of our work, provided it aligns with our mission and charitable objectives.
Fundraising
Fundraising activities organised by supporters help raise both funds and understanding. Fundraising contributions have previously enabled us to deliver projects that would not have been possible through core funding alone.
Leaving a gift in your will
Leaving a gift to the Vitiligo Society in your will is a personal and lasting way to support future generations of people affected by vitiligo. Such gifts help ensure that information, support, and advocacy continue long into the future.

Volunteering your time
Support doesn’t always have to be financial. Volunteers play an important role in helping us deliver services, connect with the community, and extend our reach.
Corporate partnerships: meaningful support beyond awareness
We welcome partnerships with organisations that want to make a genuine, positive impact for people affected by vitiligo.
While awareness and representation can be valuable, we believe that true commitment to diversity and inclusion involves more than visibility alone. In some cases, superficial representation can unintentionally minimise the very real impact vitiligo has on people’s lives.
We are therefore particularly interested in working with organisations that:
- Support the vitiligo community in practical, tangible ways
- Align with our values and mission
- Are willing to contribute to services, education, or long‑term change
- Understand that impact matters as much as visibility

Choosing how to support us
Every form of support makes a difference, and people choose to support us in different ways at different times. Whether you become a member, make a donation, fundraise, volunteer, or partner with us as an organisation, your support helps ensure that people affected by vitiligo are informed, supported, and heard.
If you would like to discuss how your support could best align with our work, we’re always happy to have a conversation.
